AC pays tribute to nation at Indira Point

The Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay, Dr Mohd Rehan Raza and his team undertook a challenging  journey to reach Indira Point from the Breakwater Jetty, Campbell Bay onboard Indian Coast Guard Ship, Charlie Class-414 at 7.40 am on March 5. After a journey of 1hour at 20-25 knots of speed, the team reached Mata Tarua Bay; the safe landing site. Braving rough seas, the  team reached the southernmost tip of the country, Indira Point and offered floral tributes to one of India’s great political leaders, Indira Gandhi
In a release, the Assistant Commissioner of the Campbell Bay said that all efforts are being made to develop a road involving GREF from Shastri Nagar road to the Galatea river, a distance of about 35 km through an overbridge. The Indian Coast Guard is providing all possible support for development of this strategically important territory.
