Advisory to control noise pollution during Deepawali

Deepawali will be celebrated on 19th October, 2017 in A&N Islands. Taking suggestions of Learned Amicus Curiae and approved by the Hon’ble Supreme Court on the control of noise pollution during the festival season, general public is hereby informed that no fire crackers shall be used between 10.00 PM to 06.00 AM. Fire crackers are also not to be used at any time in the areas designated as silence zones.
General public have been also advised to earmark common central places in every locality and area where people could gather and burst fire crackers within the prescribed limits of time, from 06.00 AM to 10.00 PM and control noise levels.
Loud speakers or public address systems are to be used by public only after obtaining written permission from competent authority and no one shall beat a drum, tom-tom, blow a trumpet, create any sound on any instrument or use any sound amplifier at night between 10.00 PM and 06.00 AM. These directions are meant for the safety and security of the general public while they enjoy the festival in its gaiety.
