Farmers in South Andaman have been advised to mulch around the coconut and arecanut tree with fallen leaves and crop residue to conserve soil moisture, provide ventilation to the house where the poultry birds are kept at night with access to clean drinking water and harvest the well grown fishes to reduce the population in the pond as water level is expected to go down due to dry period. In Nicobar, farmers have been advised to clear the crown of coconut tree and remove the old bunches to avoid the attack of rhinoceros beetles and provide ventilation to the house where the poultry birds are kept at night with access to clean drinking water.
