Agromet bulletin for farmers

The Central Island Agricultural Research Institute has released the agromet bulletin for farmers for the period from April 25 to 29. In the bulletin, CIARI forecast cloudy weather with moderate rainfall in the next five days. In South Andaman147 mm of rainfall and in North and Middle Andaman norainfallis expected andin Nicobar Island 271 mm ofrainfall is expected during this period. The maximum temperature will be 33 to 35oC with minimum temperature of25 to 29oC, whereas the maximum and minimum relative humidity is expected to be in the range of 69to 80% and 62to 73%,respectively in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Wind speed of3to23kmph is expected from North Westerly direction.
Farmers in South Andaman have been advised not to apply any agro chemical for the vegetable field as rainfall is expected during end of this week, close the bunds of firm pond to harvest rain as good amount of rainfall is expected and harvest matured vegetables and fruits before Friday to avoid losses due to rain. In North and Middle Andaman, farmers have been advised to make besin around the coconut and Arecanut and keep the day old chicks inside the shelter and keep the floor dry of poultry shed.
