The Hamdard Education Society (HES), a charity established in 1981, is committed to promoting the weaker sections of society, especially Muslims, and imparting them quality modern education and focusing on their character building.  The Hamdard Education Society manages the Hamdard Study Circle (HSC), which is the premier centre in the country for preparation for the Indian Civil Services Examination. The Hamdard Study Circle has since its inception in 1991 enabled 411 candidates to join the Indian Civil Services. This year 46 candidates made it to Civil Services. It is the philanthropy, vision and untiring efforts of Janab Hakeem Abdul Hameed Saheb and Janab Abdul Mueed Saheb that has given the opportunity to the minority community and the weaker sections of society to compete in the mainstream.  The renowned administrator and educationist, Janab Syed Hamid Saheb nurtured and nourished the desire of seeing a progressively increasing number of minority candidates and that of other backward classes joining the Indian Civil Services. This vision, a sagacious mission statement that shaped his thoughts and actions, continues to serve as a beacon for all associated with HSC.
The HSC complex presently has accommodation for 90 male and 24 female candidates. It has a large air conditioned fully equipped library, an air-conditioned lecture room, reading and discussion rooms, and a spacious dining hall, kitchen and gym. In an endeavour to promote the students of the Minority community to make it to Civil Services the A & N Islands Waqf Board has associated itself with Hamdard Study Circle. The entrance test for getting admission into Hamdard Study Circle shall be conducted at Port Blair during June / July 2018. Students interested in getting admitted to Hamdard Study Circle may contact Mr Moahmmed Afzal at the Waqf Board Office, Ph: 03192-230202 / 9933260666.
