ANSCB distributes certificates

The Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Limited distributed Certificates for Tailoring and Fashion Designing as a part of its initiative for Skill Development of SHGs on Monday in the conference hall of the Bank. Mr. B V S Prasad, General Manager, NABARD was the chief guest of the programme. It was attended by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman of the Bank, Mr. K. Murugan, Managing Director and Mr. Thiyagrajan, Manager, NABARD, SHG members and a large gathering of group members. Mr. Murugan welcomed the dignitaries and conveyed his wishes for the programme’s successful completion. He thanked NABARD, especially its General Manager and the Management of the bank for promoting the skill development of SHGs in all the rural areas of the Islands. Mr. Sharma informed that many SHG members have benefited from such programmes by the bank.
He urged all SHGs to come forward and engage themselves to improve their socio-economic conditions. He also added that Cooperative Bank is extending support to the group members by way of sanctioning loans for Tailoring machines having a monthly loan installment of Rs. 156 only for a period of 5 years for those SHG members who have completed the training programme. He also urged the group members to avail the schemes of the bank. He also informed the gathering that there is very limited scope of Govt. employment and there is no industry, hence it is the need of the hour for the people to come forward and strive for self-employments. The Chief Guest and other dignitaries distributed Certificates to 30 successful candidates of the Tailoring and Fashion designing courses of the bank held in the last year. Mr. Prasad informed the gathering that NABARD has been instrumental in sanctioning MEDP (Micro Entrepreneurship Development Programme) to the State Cooperative Bank which is the key partner of NABARD in various programmes. He added that the bank may approach NABARD for the introduction of advanced courses to the participants of Basic courses. He further urged the people present on the occasion to come forward and join themselves in various activities like Tailoring, Fashion designing, Embroidery works, etc. for a better living.
