Applications invited for Bharat Darshan Tour-2017

The Department of Information & Publicity, Directorate of IP&T will organize Bharat Darshan Tour for women social workers and tribals of the islands to apprise them of social, cultural activities as also the industrial and scientific development in the mainland besides exposing them to historical places and traditional cultural heritages in the mainland India. The tour, which is scheduled to be conducted in the second week of June, will be of around 20 day long and may cover any two states of the country.
The Bharat Darshan Tour scheme envisaged to offer opportunity to tribals and women social workers from the weaker section of the society of A & N Islands to acquaint themselves of the social, cultural, industrial and scientific development in mainland India. Hence, persons intending to undertake ‘Bharat Darshan’should belong to tribal community and women social workers from the weaker sections of the society. He or she must be capable of absorbing new ideas and to apply them in his/her areas for promoting lifestyles for themselves and their neighbours as also improving economic condition of the society. Tribal/social workers sponsored and have already availed the benefit in the earlier years are not eligible. Opportunity will be given to tribals/social workers of different zones of the Islands. Women social workers of the weaker section should be certified by the concerned authorized sponsoring authority or BPL certificates be enclosed with the application. Women applicants should at least pass 8th as they are supposed to educate their counterpart about the development in the mainland after they return. In the absence of any selected candidate, the reserved candidate will be considered on merit basis from the reserved list. The duly filled in applications of interested women social workers/tribals, sponsored by the concerned authority along with all the required documents as stated therein should reach the office of the Information Officer, I&P Division, Directorate of IP&T on or before May 15. The application so received by the stipulated time will be placed before a committee constituted for the purpose, for final selection of the beneficiaries.
