To create Road Safety awareness amongst the auto rickshaw drivers, a traffic awareness lecture was delivered at PS Aberdeen Conference Hall by Mohd. Umar, Dy. SP (Traffic), Insp HL Tiwari and Insp Arjun Prasad of Traffic Branch recently. The participants were educated about the traffic rules and regulations, as well as familiarized with the traffic signals and road signages.
Besides, a small meeting was also organized with the auto rickshaw drivers to put forth their grievances/problems in which they stated that there is no separate parking place for the auto rickshaws in the municipal area owing to which they are paying challans imposed by traffic personnel. The auto drivers were assured that their concerns will be looked into and advised not to indulge in drunken driving, not to park the auto rickshaws near the bus sheds which causes traffic congestion, not to violate the route permit, not to misbehave with the passengers, operate fare meters while carrying passengers and strictly follows the traffic rules and regulations.
On Aug 19, Insp. Shanti Arjun and SI Abhishek Menon of Traffic Branch delivered a lecture at Girls. Sr Sec School on the road safety. More than 70 students including teachers attended the lecture and they were briefed about the Road Safety and Traffic Rules and Regulations.
