Baakprotima remembers Gurudev

Baakprotima, the Bengali Little Magazine of these Islands, paid tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Thakur on his 157th birthday through a literary get-together held in its premises here at Junglighat on Tuesday. Mr Tapan Sinha, a Purulia-based preacher of Bahai Faith in this archipelago, was the chief guest on the occasion.  A number of literary personalities of the city remembered Gurudev through presentation of poetry  recital and songs – all composed by Gurudev Rabindranath Thakur. The programme commenced with the opening song (Rabindrasangeet) presented by Smt. Aruna Roy.  Mr Anadi Ranjan Bhattacharjee, general secretary, Aditya Natya Academy and Mr Rabindranath Roy spoke on the life and works of Gurudev.  Mr Kankan Mondal, Music Teacher (PT) recited poems while Mr Raisuddin Gayen, ex-member, SZCC (PC) presented Rabindrasangeet.  Mr Anadiranjan Biswas, Editor, Baakprotima and News Spotlight proposed the vote of thanks.
