“We’re committed to work in absolute harmony with the Union Government and the local administration for the holistic development of this island territory. We pledge all support the administration for all its endeavours to realize the planned massive infrastructure development in this archipelago,” said Mr Radhakrishnan, past president and trustee of Builders Association of India (BAI), A & N Centre on Thursday. Speaking to scribes, Mr Radhakrishnan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, this Union Territory is poised to witness big developments in near future and BAI will play a responsible role towards the development of this remote territory.
There are challenges to address the requirements of the construction industry mainly supply of materials, technology etc to realize major projects viz   the Airport Terminal building, National Highway, bridge in the Middle Andaman region, defence projects etc, but we’re assured that the government extend support to the local BAI Centre. Meetings with the Lt. Governor and the Chief Secretary have been positive as the local government has assured all support to BAI for its efforts for the progress of these islands.
