Beach clean-up drive by CG at Wandoor

The Indian Coast Guard conducted a beach clean-up drive at Wandoor Beach on Saturday under the Swachha Sagar Abhiyan. Many Coast Guard ships and establishments in Port Blair participate in beach clean up every Saturday as part of the cleanliness mission.
Personnel from the Indian Coast Guard cleaned around 400 mtrs of beach and about 200 kgs of garbage collected, which was further handed over  to PBMC for disposal.  The time was selected during low tide so as to have maximum area of beach available for cleaning. The event was witnessed and applauded by locals and tourists. The beach looked cleaner on completion of the clean-up drive. The Coast Guard Region, A  & Region is committed to realize the goals of “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan” and will continue to contribute towards their national dream.
