Befitting programme for public entertainment arranged

Beach Festival to commence today

Beach Festival-2017 is being organized from April 28 to 30 at Corbyn’s Cove with the concept of popularizing the beach activities in A&N Islands apart from providing sundown entertainment to the Islanders as well as to the visiting tourists. Stalls for delicious food, handicraft items will be put up apart from fun games and adventure water sports activities.
During the festival ‘Beach Sports’ competitions will be organized at Corbyn’s Cove to encourage more participation from general public and tourists. Sand Sculpture competitions and Fishermen Dinghi race will be added attractions during the festival. All these competitions will be held at Corbyn’s Cove.
On April 28, the first day of the festival, the events to be organized included adventure water sports activities from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm, and Food Court/fun games from 10.00 am to 9.00 pm; beach sports competition (beach volleyball for men and women from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm; performances of Police Band from 5.00 pm to 6.30 pm and live musical show by M/s Dream World Entertainer & M/s Maharashtra Mandal from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm. Similarly on April 29 apart from adventure water sports and beach sports competition, sand sculpture (2.00 pm to 5.00 pm) and coconut tree climbing competitions (3.00 pm to 5.00 pm) will be conducted besides live grand musical show by Sa Re Ga Ma fame Anuradha (6.30 pm to 10.00 pm).
On the final day of the festival, (April 30) besides competition events, tug of war, musical chair and fishermen dinghi race will be held from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm. The closing function cum prize distribution ceremony will be held at 6.00 pm followed by live musical show by M/s Friends Cultural Group, M/s BRW Music Wing and M/s Sristhi Cultural Group from 6.30 pm to 10.00 pm.
