BJP state unit holds intellectual meet to celebrate 4 years of Modi Govt

As part of the national campaign launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party to get the intelligentsia on the side of the saffron party ahead of the 2019 general elections, the state unit of the party here organised an intellectual meet at Megapode Nest on Wednesday. Mr Ram Lall, national secretary (org) BJP, Mr B.L.Santhosh, national joint general secretary, (org), Mr Tarun Chug, national secretary, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament and Mr Vishal Jolly, state president, BJP, A&N Islands were present for the meeting. Enumerating the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in last four years, Mr Jolly said that the Union Government has worked on the short-term as well as long- term policies at every level and governance during Modi regime is far better than the time governed by Congress. “Primary membership of BJP in these islands never crossed the 18000 in the past, which has now surpassed the 55,000 mark. The party workers reached out to around 27300 households in different parts of these islands during the Ghar Ghar Chalo Abhiyan and the remaining ones will be covered by the end of this month,” he informed 
He said huge irregularities have been reported in the electoral rolls of these islands. After polls, it has been found that there are many bogus names in the voters list. In Nicobar District alone, more than 50 percent names in the voter list is fake. Many people who left the islands and settled in other parts of these islands or mainland are still named in the voter list. Our workers in Nicobar also informed that many persons, who died in the recent years, are also in the voter list, claimed Mr Jolly raising doubts on the voting percent of 85-90% recorded in the Nicobar region. Highlighting the achievements of the government in four years, Mr Ram Lall said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is committed for the holistic development of these islands. The party has gained huge stronghold after wins in general elections as well panchayat and municipal polls here. “Today the BJP and its coalition partners have governments in many States of the country. For Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Narendra Modi government has launched several infrastructural projects like roads, bridges etc, while many welfare schemes of the government has benefitted scores of people in these islands. The party workers across the country work on particular policy of Nation first, Party second and Self last,” said Mr Lall calling upon islanders to download Narendra Modi App and get connected with the Prime Minister.
