Blood Screening Camp by Sant Nirankari Sangh

The Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation branch Junglighat, Port Blair organized a Blood Screening and Counselling Camp at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan with the help of Directorate of Health Services, Blood Bank. The team was headed by Dr. Ganesh Samadder, CMO, G.B. Pant Hospital, Deputy Director, Blood Safety, Mr P.C. Paul,  Senior Lab Technician, Blood Bank and Ms Palwinder Kaur, Counsellor, Blood Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Samadder and its team elaborately discussed about how to increase the blood/hemoglobin in the human body. They also said that from the age of 18 to 60 years of healthy person can donate their blood with the minimum of 12 grms hemoglobin. The Counsellor, Blood Bank, Ms Palwinder Kaur highlighted the importance of donation of blood to the needy. She also said that many people are scared of donating blood hence it is benefited to the donor by replacing old blood to new one. One donor can save three lives at a time. Meanwhile, it is also focused that the high source of blood is in our day to day nutrition is Soybeans, dates, jaggery, guava and green vegetables.
The medical team from the G.B. Pant Hospital appreciated the move initiating by follower of Sant Nirankari Mission time to time by way of Blood Donation and other social activities to the society.
In the camp, altogether 80 volunteers (male and female) hemoglobin test were done and the Iron tablets prescribed by the doctor and the same has been distributed by the team to the anemic patients in camp.   The Sanyojak, Sant Nirankari Mandal, Junglighat, Port Blair especially thanks to the Directorate of Health Services and its blood bank team for organizing such a noble cause camp in association with Sant Nirankari Mission, Junglighat, Port Blair.
