Butterflies hold Bal Sabhas at Ferrargunj, Hut Bay

Butterflies’ children of South and Little Andaman held Bal Sabha Interface meetings with their respective Samiti Pramukhs. In Hutbay, Butterflies’ children met with their Samiti Pramukh Mrs. Seema Sarkar on Nov 14, while in South Andaman children met with Samiti Pramukh Mr. Sandeep and Block Development Officer Mr. Rajendra on Nov 21 at Ferrargunj Samiti Office. In South Andaman, the children came from Tapu Basti, Laal Bijan, Namunaghar, Guptapara, Laal Pahard and Attam Pahad. Children shared their issues prevalent in their villages, school and community like lack of maintenance of Anganwadi buildings, irregular service of STS buses, inactive youth clubs, facilities in schools etc. Children identified these issues during their ‘Bal Sabhas’ within Butterflies’ centres, following which they held interface meetings with their village Pradhans, Police officials, NYK state coordinator, STS transport Officer and lastly with Samiti Pramukh and BDO. Samiti Pramukh and BDO noted the children’s issues intently and assured quick action wherever possible. Along with Pramukh and BDO, the meet was attended by Samiti Members, Namunaghar Panchayat Pradhan Mrs. Pratima Kumari, Butterflies Programme Manager Mr. Sino P. Kurian and Butterflies Field Coordinator Ms. Latika Singh.
