Capacity building workshop for DCPU staff, members of Child Welfare Committee

A one-day workshop on capacity building was conducted by the District Child Protection Unit (S/A) under the guidance and presence of Chairperson of DCPU Mr Udit Prakash Rai for the DCPU staff and for the newly appointed Chairperson and member of Child Welfare Committee (S/A). Secretary of Social Welfare Mr Manikandan was the chief guest whereas Co-opted member of DCPU (S/A) Smt Rubina Sidhiqui (founder of RFA an NGO) , Nodal Officer ICPS Dr. Nidhi Saroi and Mr Yash Choudhury (IAS probationary) was the special invitee for the programme. The programme was divided in two sessions, during the 1st session the dignitaries shared their valuable views regarding the importance of Integrated Child Protection Scheme and about the achievements of District Child Protection Unit at South Andaman.
In the 2nd half of the sessions training was conducted by various Resource Persons. Dr. Mitesh Bihari (Psychiatrist ) explained in details about the  “importance of Counselling and handling of Victim Child”. Inspector Jyoti Chatwal explained about the roles and responsibilities of Special Juvenile Police Unit and child related laws. Smti Rubina Sidhiqui (co-opted  member of DCPU) had skilled the participants about, “Roles and responsibilities of CWC and Standard Operating Procedure for functioning of DCPU”. Various quarries / doubts had been raised by the staff of DCPU as well as member of CWC, which were sorted out by ex-member of UTCPCR Smti. Rubina Sidhiqui.
