Career counselling for CBSE students

The Govt. Boys' Sr. Sec. School, Middle Point here in collaboration with the Boys' School Alumni association organised Career Counselling-cum-Guidance along with stress management session on Saturday in the auditorium of TGCE for the benefit of the 216  students who will take the Board examinations this year and their parents. Sixteen eminent resource persons were invited from different fields of which 12 attended and enriched the students and their parents to guide their minds to choose best available career option for  their wards. Mr Venkat Rama Rao, PGT of GBSSS, Port Blair guided students on stress management, Dr Nagesh Rao, ex-Director of Fisheries sensitized students on career opportunities in the fisheries sector, Dr Amitabh Dey, Deputy Director (Health) on medicine, Jenson Daniel, Head of Civil Engineering Department of DBRAIT on engineering, Dr Dev Singh, Lecturer, ANCOL on Commerce, Mr Sridhar, Lecturer, ANCOL on Business Administration, Mr Zubair Ahmed, Editor, The Light of Andaman on Journalism and Mass Media, Mr Deepanshu, Lecturer, DBRAIT on Hospitality Industry, Captain Rohit Lall of DBRAIT on Marine/Nautical Science, Dr Pankaj Biswas on Animal Husbandry, Smt Vijay Laxmi, National Awardee teacher on teaching profession and Dr Harshavardhan, Lecturer, DBRAIT highlighted opportunities in the IT and Computer Science sector.
Earlier, Smt Rita Baneijee, Principal welcomed the gathering. Mr Basudev Dass, Secretary, Boys' Alumni Association proposed the vote of thanks.
