CIPs by Indian Coast Guard

The Indian Coast Guard conducted Special Community Interaction Programmes (CIPs) at Junglighat, Port Blair and Mayabunder on October 28. The interaction was aimed at providing impetus to Govt of India flagship programme “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan” and also sensitising the locals about safety and security at sea.
During the event the coastal populace was briefed about the “Pradhan Mantri Vandna Yojna” launched under “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan”. The eligibility pertaining to this scheme, necessary documents required for registration and the benefits to the pregnant women and lactating mothers were explained in details. The special emphasis was laid on the need for nutrition to mothers as well as daughters and the fundamental rights of women.
The Coast Guard Station, Mayabunder conducted the programme in association with Coast Guard wives’ welfare association, Mayabunder and Anganwadi centre Mayabunder  at the Community Hall, Karmatang. Smt. Naw Sabaiah, Pradhan Rampur village was the chief guest for the event who lauded the invaluable contribution of Indian Coast Guard towards this noble cause.
