Legal Services Day observed
The State Legal Services Authority in association with District Legal Services Authority observed Legal Services Day on Thursday in the ADR Centre-PRAYAS here. The observance was based on the theme ‘Connecting to Service’. Speakers on the occasion highlighted various facilities by the State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority and created awareness about the legal services among the gathering.
Legal Services Day is observed every year in India on November 9 to lay emphasis on legal literacy and increase legal awareness amongst the masses especially those who live in far off areas and where literacy and more importantly Legal Literacy is lacking. NALSA which stands for National Legal Services Authority formed the foundation for Legal Services Day, which is celebrated on Nov 9 as it was on this day in 1995 that Legal Services Authorities Act was enforced.
