Ummat annual campus fest, UDAAN 2017, concludes

The valedictory function of UDAAN – 2017 of Ummat Public School was held at Middle Point Tuesday with the celebration of Children’s Day.  Smt Nuzhat Hassan, Director General of Police, Andaman and Nicobar Islands graced the occasion as the chief guest. Among others, Ms. Usha Rangarani, SP and Ms. G. Amrutha, Commandant IRBN, the  Members of Island Islamic Foundation,  Janab I.A Khan , Janab.Gulam Hussain Jadwet, Janab Mohammed Hashim Jadwet, Janab M.Z. Siddqui, Janab M. Abdul Sattar, Janab Yameen Mohammed Murtaza, Member UTCPCR Ms. Rubina Nadeem Siddiqui, and Dr. Shirin Faizal Jadwet also graced the function. The chief guest was honoured by presenting a bouquet by Janab I.A Khan, Chairman, Island Islamic Foundation and the memento was presented to the chief guest by Janab M. Abdul Sattar, Member, Island Islamic Foundation.
In her address, the chief guest said that such co-curricular activities are very important for children’s overall personality development and to enhance their hidden talents and UDAAN is a better platform to achieve this. She also encouraged the students to imbibe the qualities of a good human being and be a better citizen. Various entertaining and engrossing events were held during the 10 days fest with the objective of providing students an opportunity to showcase their talents and develop greater perfection. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of various contests at the valedictory function today.
Welcoming the gathering, Janab Mohammed Hashim Jadwet, general secretary, Island Islamic Foundation highlighted the growth of school through years and mentioned about the successful functioning of the two different campus of same foundation. Vote of thanks was proposed by Janab.  M. Z Siddiqui, joint secretary, Island Islamic Foundation.        

Book exhibition at State Library
Celebration of National book Week got underway in the State Library here on Tuesday. The Deputy Director of Education (Perl), Directorate of Education, Mr Suresh Kumar inaugurated a book exhibition at the venue. More than 1000 books in various languages are on display at the exhibition.

Ananda Marga wards celebrate Children’s Day
Students of Ananda Marga School here celebrated Children’s Day with zeal on Tuesday. Various events were organised for the students by the school management. Winners of different competitions were also awarded prizes on the occasion.
