Class XI student commits suicide

In another tragic incident, a student of Class XI of a government school here committed suicide after poor show in one of the exam papers on Monday. The deceased took the extreme step by hanging himself in the bathroom of his house in the wee hours today. The police have  registered a case under section 174 CrPC.
The 17 year old, T Balamurugam, returned home late in the night after performing poorly in one of his annual exam papers. He was reportedly out with his friends and returned to his residence at Electricity Colony here at around 10.30 pm. The deceased’s mother scolded him for being late and the family of five went for sleep after supper. Later, at around 2 am, Balamurugam’s mother found the door of the bathroom locked from inside. She called her husband and found her son hanging in the bathroom.
The police rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information and sent the body of Balamurugam to the Primary Health Centre. The body was handed over to the family after autopsy and the final rites were performed today, according to reports.
