Experts in the field of medicine joined hands to conduct a two-day clinical orientation programme for the second year (3rd semester) MBBS  students at Medical College, ANIIMS, Port Blair which started on Tuesday with a brief description about the utility of the clinical orientation of the 3rd semester  students, by the Dean Academics, Dr. Sukesh Kathpalia, Prof & HOD (Obs & Gyne ) which is a requirement of Medical council of India.
Dr. Mohd Rehan Raza OSD ANIIMS/ AC HQ was invited to give a motivational lecture and convene an interactive session with the MBBS students. Dr. Mohd Rehan Raza, OSD ANIIMS said :  The practice of medicine is an art , not a trade; a calling in which your heart will be exercised equally with head”. OSD ANIIMS said to the students that "you do not study to pass the test. You study to prepare for the day when you are the only thing between a patient and the grave. It's always a beautiful day to save lives". Dr. Rehan impressed upon the students that success demands for sacrifices. Sacrifice of sleep, sacrifice of entertainment, sacrifice of comfort zone. He said that "as future doctors they have to be truly devoted, strong, confident yet humble and ready to work harder than they could have imagined till now. They have to be striving for perfection, because they cannot afford to be 99% right . You are either 100% right or 100 % wrong”. He said that, “a doctor is a student till he/she dies, once he considers himself not a student anymore, the doctor inside him dies”.
