Comrade SK Vyas remembered

The Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, Andaman & Nicobar Islands organised a remembrance meeting to mark the 3rd death anniversary of Comrade SK Vyas, the legendary leader of Central Government employees and workers on Tuesday at Crusade House, Port Blair. Presiding the meeting, Mr P.Sathyapal, president of the association, described about visits of Com. S.K.Vyas to these islands and his contributions to build employees movement all over the country. Mr Pronob Banerjee, former president of  the association described him as a personality with simple living and high thinking. He remembered his contributions as a leader of staff side in almost every Pay Commissions, which paved the way for getting various benefits enjoyed by the government servants. Speaking on the occasion, Mr T.S.Sreekumar, general secretary of the association recollected his contributions at a crucial time when the teachers working in these islands were forced to work for 1 ½ hours more than the usual working hours. Other leaders of association including Mr G.P.Mandal, organising  secretary; Mr R.Surendran Pillai, asst. general secretary; Mr S.L.Vinjit, secretary, SATB also narrated various events that highlighted significant role played by this great leader which has left a trail for the government employees working in the country to follow the path of unity and struggle for the betterment of the society. Mr R.Rajendran, asst. general secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
