Contests by ABVP on Swami Vivekananda

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP)  on Wednesday organized a quiz and debate competition at TGCE, Auditorium, to mark the week-long celebration of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The theme of the inter-college quiz competition was “Indian Culture and Tradition, In this quiz competition a total of five colleges have participated and JNRM SCIENCE stream , ANIIMS and JNRM arts secured first , second and third position respectively.  Dr. Chandradeep Singh, president, Port Blair City unit ABVP was the quiz master.  Similarly a debate competition on the topic “Demonetization” was also held at same occasion, where individuals from different colleges participated and Miss Princy Priya from TGCE, Mr. Vivek Kumar Singh from JNRM and Miss S. Ajitha from TGCE secured first, second and third position respectively.
Earlier, Mr Vikrant Khandelwal, National convener of ABVP for union territories and other dignitaries of ABVP spoke on the occasion. In his short address Mr Khandelwal said that India has a unique characteristic of unity in diversity and Andaman has the long history maintaining the cultural identity of sacrifice for the nation and the role of ABVP is to hold the cultural identity of this nation as well as Andaman and Nicobar. He appreciated the effort of ABVP members in organizing such versatile events in this remote Island particularly amongst the college students.  The entire programmme was coordinated by Dr. Anjani Kumar Srivastava, president, ABVP, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The  programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dipankar Dey, secretary, ABVP, A & N Islands.
