Irregular supply of LPG refills has become a cause of concern for customers of Priya Indane here. According to reports, the cooking gas distribution agency has not deployed vehicles to various parts in South Andaman for distribution of the refills for the past 30 days following which many households in the city and suburbs are facing a severe shortage of cooking gas. Massive chaos was witnessed at the office of the Priya Indane a couple of days ago when customers in large number waited for hours to obtain their refills disrupting movement of vehicular traffic for hours.
“Priya Indane has not sent LPG distribution trucks to many places in South Andaman for the past many days and consumers are left with no other option but to travel to Junglighat to obtain the refill. Many customers waited in serpentine queues for hours to obtain the cylinders. We had no other option,” said some consumers.
A staff of Priya Indane said that there was some problem in the agency’s transport system because of which refills could not be dispatched to customers at their respective places in South Andaman. The matter is being looked into by the management and necessary measures will be taken to ensure uninterrupted supply of cooking gas for customers, the official said.
