CS salutes CISF personnel on 48th Raising Day

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) celebrated its 48th Raising Day in a grand colourful ceremonial manner at Haddo Wharf here on Friday. The Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Mr Anindo Majumdar was the chief guest, while the Chief Port Administrator, Dr RD Tripathi graced the occasion as the guest of honor. Inspector General of Police, Mr N S Bundela, Assistant Commandant of CISF, Amit Kumar Sharma and many other officials of the administration attended the function. In his address, the Chief Secretary saluted the CISF personnel for their bravery and sense of duty with which they have served the nation for years. “Introduced in the country in the year 1962, the contribution of the paramilitary force in these islands since 2011 has been very vital. CISF has maximum public interaction, acts as a public interface and the dynamic and well-diversified force should strive to retain its core competence,” said Mr Majumdar. He also highlighted the role of the CISF in national security dealing with terrorism and anti-naxal activities.
Earlier, Sub Inspector S Raveendran led the ceremonial parade. A demonstration on CISF operation dealing with terrorists trying to enter a check-post was also held on the occasion. A reflex shooting and tug of war contest was also held on the occasion. The Chief Secretary distributed prizes to the winner and runners-up on the occasion.
