DFO accused of molestation likely to move HC for bail

The Divisional Forest Officer of  Diglipur accused of sexual harassment of female employees of the department is likely to move the High Court for bail on Monday. According to sources, the legal counsel of the accused is likely to file the bail plea tomorrow which was earlier rejected by the Court of Judicial Magistrate after the expiry of anticipatory bail on June 16. Meanwhile, the Police have intensified the search operation to trace the accused.
Sources informed that the police searched the office premises of ACONE Engineers at Pathergudda on Saturday, whose proprietor is believed to be close to the accused. Cops also raided some other locations but failed to arrest the accused. The wife of the accused DFO has shot letters to the Prime Minister Office with copes to Lt. Governor and senior officials of the administration alleging conspiracy by the complainants and the Station House Officer of Diglipur.  She also threatened to end her life if justice is denied to her husband.
Altogether, five FIRs under relevant sections of the law have been registered against the accused for alleged harassment of female employees. The victims claimed that they have been facing sexual harassment for the past one year. The first FIR was registered on June 8 by one of the victims after which the accused went into hiding.
