The Field Publicity Unit (FPU) here under the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized a grand photo exhibition on several pro-people schemes launched by the NarendraModi government on Wednesday in the multipurpose hall of CPWD Complex, Ranchi Tikrey, Lamba Line, Dairyfarm. The exhibition was aimed at highlighting the progress and achievements of the schemes under various sectors of the government in its three years. The Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Prof. JagdishMukhi, inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest in the presence of the senior officials of the administration and staff of the Field Publicity Unit of DAVP.
In his address, Prof. Mukhi lauded the efforts of the DAVP in organizing such photo exhibition here in the Islands for highlighting various schemes and initiatives undertaken by the Central Government for the development of the country and the welfare of the people. He urged the islanders to witness the exhibition and gather knowledge about various schemes made available for them. Hailing the Prime Minister for his out of the box thinking behind launch of many innovative schemes, the Lt. Governor said that India is the fastest growing economy in the world and with the concerted efforts of the Prime Minister, the pace of development in the country is growing including this territory. “The success of the schemes can only be achieved, when it reaches every stratum of the society, hence we must ensure they reach our masses,” said Prof. Mukhi. The Lt. Governor went around the exhibition and also witnessed a video presentation on three years completion of Modi Government highlighting the various schemes and welfare measures being implemented by the Government for the welfare of the masses.
The five- day exhibition will continue till July 9 from 10 am to 6 pm. General public can visit the exhibition and acquaint themselves with several welfare schemes launched by the Government. Feature films on ‘Making New India’ and other movies on activities of the Union Government will also be screened on all days of the exhibition.
The DAVP is organizing such exhibitions all over the country to make the public aware of the schemes and welfare measures of the Union Govt.  for the benefits of the citizens of the country. Through this exhibition, the DAVP is displaying the schemes and welfare measures exclusively introduced for women, children, farmers, entrepreneurs, youth, differently-abled, minorities and senior citizens. Photos and information about over 75 schemes are being displayed at the exhibition here.

Noticing low attendance at the all important event, the Lt. Governor lashed out at the officials of the Field Publicity Unit of DAVP. “What’s the use of organizing such exhibitions when the targeted beneficiaries have not been invited for the event? All government agencies should ensure full public participation in events like these so that the benefits of flagship government schemes reach them,” the Lt. Governor, in his stern message, told the government agencies present at the function.
