EOI extends assistance to bone Cancer patient

Committed to the welfare of islanders, The Echo of India handed over a token amount of Rs 5000/- to Mohd. Aslam, a 10 year old boy suffering from Bone Cancer to facilitate his expert treatment at mainland. On behalf of the publication, Ms Roopa Lall, Correspondent handed over the cheque to Aslam’s father, Mr S Rafiq, who works as a daily rated worker in Secretariat and asked him to keep her updated about the health of Aslam and contact for any further requirements.
Speaking to EOI, Ms Rafiq said that his son is presently being treated by Dr Sahid and Dr Said of GB Pant Hospital and is in critical condition. “He urgently needs specialised treatment and we plan to proceed to Hyderabad on the 25th of this month as per the advice of doctors. After EOI’s report, we’ve received a number of calls from well-wishers and are overwhelmed with the support rendered for our son’s treatment,” he said.
Mohd. Aslam is suffering from Bone Cancer and is presently undergoing chemotherapy at G.B.Pant Hospital. He is in need of around 7 lakhs for further treatment at Cancer specialty hospital in Hyderabad.
