FIR against DFO Digilipur for alleged molestation

Police has registered a case against the Divisional Forest Officer of Diglipur for allegedly molesting female employees posted in the division. Sources claim that the DFO has been facing such accusations for the past one year. However, female employee working on daily rated basis mostly from poor families remained silent for fear of being terminated from the job. But the victim garnered courage and narrated the incident to the police after which an FIR under relevant section of the law has been registered.
According to information, the accused DFO immediately left for Port Blair after the registration of the FIR and has applied for anticipatory bail before the Court. The Dy.SP of the region informed that the DFO went hiding after the FIR was registered. “A search operation has been launched to arrest the accused,” he said.
