Football tourney begins

As a part of 63rd Wildlife Week Celebration, Wildlife Division of the Department of Environment and Forests is organizing  the 2nd Forest Martyr’s Rolling Trophy Knockout Football Tournament from September 20  at JNRM football stadium, where 17 teams are participating in the event. While inaugurating the tournament Shri M.S. Negi, PCCF and Principal Secretary (E&F) emphasized upon taking sports as device to reach and motivate people across the society for conserving, preserving rare diversity of the Island and also stressed upon to maintain true sportsman spirit, while remembering the supreme sacrifice of Forest officials, who laid their life in protecting forest, water, eco-system and society for future generation.
In the inaugural match played between Future Boys Club, Netaji stadium Vs Eliz Sporting Club, Wimberlygunj, Future Club, Netaji Stadium beat Eliz Sporting Club, Wimberlygunj in a tie breaker shoot out. The next mach will be played between CFC Extra XI, Chakkargaon Vs Modern Village FC, Kanyapuram at JNRM Football Stadium tomorrow  at 7.00 am.
