Port Blair
3 Sep 2018

Mr Gaurav Gogoi (MP), CWC Member and In- charge A&N Pradesh Congress Committee accompanied with Smt. M.Hazeena Syed, Secretary, All India Mahila Congress Committee, Mr Subhankar Sarkar, Spokesperson, West Bengal Congress Committee and Mr Santosh, Secretary, All India Youth Congress Committee proceeded for their maiden political tour of Middle & North Andaman along with Mr Kuldeep and others. On the way to Middle & North Andaman, Mr Gogoi interacted with Congress Block committee leaders and workers of Port Blair South Block, Protherapur Block, Garacharama Block, Humfrygunj Block, Tusnabad Block and Ferrargunj Block. Mr Gogoi addressed public meeting at Baratang, Kadamtala, Bakultala and Billyground , attended political conference at Diglipur and lead rally at Mayabunder to expose corruption of Prime Minister Mr.Modi on purchase of Rafale fighter aircraft from France. Several leaders and sitting PRI Members belonging to BJP and other political parties joined Congress affirming and expressing faith in the ideology of Congress Party and the leadership of Mr Rahul Gandhi.
Addressing public meetings, Mr Gogoi said that during the Lok Sabha election campaign 2014, the people of India got influenced and fancied by the tall promises made by Mr. Narendra Modi and the BJP which made them victorious in the election. He said, the present term of Modi led NDA government is near completion, and there is no sign of arrival of “Acche Din” and rather people are subjected to more hardships and worries due to anti-poor, anti-farmer and pro-rich policy of the ruling government. None of the promises made to the electorate of India could be fulfilled by the NDA government, be it brining back of black money of Indian stashed in Swiss Bank and depositing Rs.15 lakhs in the account of every Indian citizen, eradicating unemployment by creating 2 Crores employments for the young Indians, controlling price rise , stopping cross border terrorism , making Indian rupee stronger in the international market, slashing down the cost of Petrol and Diesel by half, making income of the farmers doubled , security and safety of women and many more. On contrary, to circumvent failure of the government in bringing the black money back from the foreign Banks, Mr.Modi imposed demonetization to divert the attention of the people of India. Demonetization proved to be failure, as it cost more to the exchequer for printing & distribution of new currency than the black money recovered and almost all old Rs.500/- and Rs1000/- currency got deposited in the Banks proving wrong the claim of the BJP government of huge circulation of black money in the Indian market . The Indian Rupee has diminished to its all-time low value with one US Dollar costing nearly 71 Indian Rupees. The cost of Petrol, Diesel, and LPG cooking gas are on all time high rates. The income of farmer has not doubled instead the farmer suicide is on rise.  Whenever and wherever the cases of atrocities, sexual abuse, brutality done to women and weaker section of society comes to limelight, the leaders of BJP are found to be involved.
Mr Gogoi said if BJP again comes to power in 2019, the sufferings and misery is going to further increase for the poor and middle class people.  Hence, time has come to bring Congress back in power with Mr Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister of India. On return to Port Blair, Mr Gogoi launched project “SHAKTI” at Brookshabad Community Hall organized by Port Blair South Block Congress Committee and at Anarkali Community hall organised by Port Blair North Block Congress Committee aimed to connect every congress workers at the grass root level directly to the AICC President and Congress Working Committee by establishing a two way communication through Mobile phone. Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, PCC President expressed sincere gratitude to general public, supporters and sympathizers of Congress Party for attending the meetings, rallies and the political conference organized by the respective District and Block Congress Committees. He also welcomed the leaders from other political parties and social workers who joined Congress Party during the tour of Mr Gaurav Gogoi.
