Grand celebration of Baha’i founder’s 200th birth anniv

More than 3000 Baha’is in these islands have planned to organise various events to celebrate the 200th birth anniversary of the founder of the religion, Baha’u’llah. The religion emphasizes  on unity of humanity, said Mr Meherzad, secretary, Spiritual Assembly of Baha’is of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, speaking to newspersons  at a press conference on Saturday.
“The year 2017 marks the 200th birth anniversary of Baha’u’llah, the founder of the Baha’i faith and the Baha’i community, wherever  they exist in the world are celebrating the joyous occasion with religious zeal and fervour. The religion was founded in the year 1953. There are around 3300 followers of the "the Bab" in these islands, who conduct devotional gatherings, spiritual aspiration, children classes, youth empowerment programme at regular intervals in different parts of this territory. Around 2 million Baha’is representing the great diversity of the Indian nation from across different states in the country are celebrating the bicentenary celebration of the birth of Baha’u’llah founder of the Baha’i’ faith on Sunday,” he added.
