Half-yearly meeting of TOLIC held

The 81st half yearly meeting of Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Port Blair was organised at Library Hall of ICAR-CIARI, today. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Anandmay Kundu, Director, ICAR-CIARI. The heads of various Central Government Organisations functioning in the isles, were also present on the occasion as members TOLIC. During the meeting, many Member Offices were awarded for their commendable performance in the implementation of the use of Hindi in day- today official communication in the year 2017-18. Andaman and Lakshadweep Harbour Works, Fishery Survey of India and Coast Guard Region were awarded the first, second and third prize respectively, in this effort.
In his address, Dr. Anandmay Kundu, Chairman TOLIC thanked the gathering for contributing in promoting the use of Hindi in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He also invited suggestions, from the assembly, to encourage the use of Hindi in routine office work. Smt. Sulochana, Secretary TOLIC, briefed the meeting about TOLIC activities during the past few years and also shared the proceedings of the last half yearly meeting. TOLIC Annual Magazine ‘Dweep Tarang’ was also released on the occasion. (PIB Port Blair)
