Homfraygunj Martyrs’ Memorial Committee meets LG

A delegation of the Homfraygunj Martyrs Memorial Committee met the Lt. Government at Raj Niwas on Monday. The Lt. Governor was apprised of the Balidan Vedi- the State Martyrs Memorial Homfraygunj, by the patron-cum-advisor Mr. Gauri Shanker Pandey. He also highlighted the future development at the complex, being undertaken by the Directorate of Art and Culture in a phased manner to develop it as a tourist spot. He also mentioned that a light and sound show programme, and an International Peace Park are to be established there.
The Lt. Governor was also impressed upon by the President of the HMMC, Mr. Puran Chand for helping the Members of the Indian Independence League and personnel of the INA. Mr. Pandey also requested the Hon’ ble Lt. Governor to kindly use his high office for clearing the long pending matter at the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi for the sanction and grant of compensation for the loss of life and destruction of properties by the Japanese occupation force during World War II. The Lt. Governor very patiently heard and assured for all possible help for these causes.
