ICG DG in isles to review operational preparedness, infra development

The Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, Rajendra Singh, President Tatrakshak Medal, Tatrakshak Medal arrived here to review Coast Guard operations and infrastructure development in A&N region. During his three day operational visit, the Flag Officer will also be visiting Coast Guard stations at Hut Bay, Mayabandar and Diglipur to interact with personnel operating in frontline units and to review infrastructure & operational growth at these isolated locations. President Tatrakshika, Mrs. Urmila Singh will also accompany the Flag Officer to oversee women oriented welfare initiatives by CGWWA in these units.
Under his leadership as DGICG, the Coast Guard has witnessed rapid growth in terms of infrastructure development and induction of numerous assets. During last year only, 11 new surface platforms were inducted. Also, sanction for setting up of additional Pollution Response Team, Coast Guard Refit and Production Teams, Base Maintenance Units and Coast Guard Aeronautical Service has also been received from GoI. With Flag Officers continued impetus on infrastructure development, during the years to come, Coast Guard organisation is heading for a major expansion to match growing demand on maritime security, safety and environment protection front.
