ICGS C-422 begins operations from Kamorta

Coast Guard Station Kamorta has been strengthened with positioning of ICGS C-422, which commenced operations from Kamorta in the Nancowrie group of islands. A welcome ceremony was held at Kamorta jetty on Wednesday wherein officers and men of Coast Guard along with dignitaries from various services were present.
The positioning of Coast Guard surface asset will enhance its operational capability in the Nancowrie group of Islands and will also impetus assistance to local administration and tribal population during any emergent situations. Also, the Coast Guard in collaboration with A&N Administration is taking it as a challenge to develop support infrastructure and logistic support for new assets in Nancowrie group of Islands for their optimal utilisation and swift deployment even to remotest corner.
