IGNOU staff sensitized on healthy cooking practices

As part of staff development activity and to improve the health and fitness of staff members working at IGNOU Regional Centre here, a special interaction session was arranged with Prof. Sushil Kumar Saluja, (Director-Hotel Management Faculty of Management Studies), Manav Rachana International University, Faridabad. During the discussion, the expert has emphasised the cleanliness of vegetables, need of cleaning operation to convert market vegetables into cook-able vegetables and the importance of steaming process of cooking. During the rainy season, it is highly necessary to take Amla, Badam, Drumstick, which are facilitating us to resist the rainy season diseases, he said.
He also stressed the need to use bottom water separator plate in pressure cooker so as to have steam cooking instead of pressure cooking to get maximum nutritional value of the food. The interaction was highly useful as all the staff members have children of 7-10 years age group. The participants appreciated the tips given by the expert during the session. Dr. S.
