IMFL, spurious liquor seized, 8 held

As part of its efforts to curb the menace of illicit brewing and illegal sale of IMFL in the city,the police team of PS Pahargaon consisting of PCs RS Rakesh and Bhasker Rao nabbed three persons identified as Kashinath (40 yrs) resident of Bimblitan, Binoj Majumdar (40 yrs) resident of Tirur and R Suresh (38 yrs) resident of Pathergudda and recovered 25 bottles of IMFL from their possession.
On February 22, the police team of PS Pahargaon again apprehended three more persons for carrying excess quantity of IMFL and recovered 40 bottles of IMFL from their possession. On the same day two persons were caught selling country made liquor (total 41.5 liters of country made liquor was recovered from their possession). The accused Zavier (64 yrs) resident of  Calicut, Velu (30 yrs) resident of Garacharma, Susil Mondal (30 YRS) resident of Wandoor, Mangra (32 yrs) resident of Brookshabad and Sugiya (45 yrs) resident of Brookshabad were arrested from the spot and the recovered items were seized. 
The detection was made under the command of Insp. Sahil Samsuddin, SHO PS Pahargaon under the direct supervision of Mr Nishant Gupta, Dy.SP(SA). South Andaman police remains ever vigilant against such illegal activity.  The general public have been requested to pass on any credible information pertaining to illegal transportation/sale of liquor, gambling or any other illegal activities on the following telephone  numbers 233077, 232405, 232400, 250525, 232232 & 100. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
