India’s first Blood Awareness T-Shirt Brand launched

A two-day awareness campaign on blood donation was organized by Delhi-based social organization “Change with One Foundation” here. On the theme Simply Blood India’s first not-for-profit blood awareness, T-Shirt Brand was launched by Dr M Joy, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council.  The event was also attended by Mr Kiran Verma, Founder, “Simply Blood”.
Dr. Jayakumar, Principal, ANCOL, Port Blair, Dr. Kandimuthu, Asst. Professor (NSS Incharge), JNRM College, Mr Girish Kumar, Assistant Director (VBD), ANACS, Mr Jagannath Shastri, Associate Professor, ANCOL and Smt Palwinder Kaur, Counsellor, Blood Bank  were present on the occasion.
Dr. M Joy delivered a motivational talk to more than 150 students of JNRM College and ANCOL where they took an oath to donate blood whenever possible. Every day more than 12,000 people fail to get blood on time across India, which leads to death of thousands of people due to lack of blood. The situation in Andaman is far better than rest of India but still as a national campaign on blood donation awareness, Mr. Kiran Verma visited Andaman to encourage youth to donate blood.
Many students raised questions regarding blood donation and myths related to blood transfusion, which were answered by the officials. Mr Jagannath Shastri proposed the vote of thanks and promised to provide full support to the Voluntary Blood Donation mission.
