Indigenous poultry germplasms training by KVK

A 3-day training programme on Training programme on Indigenous poultry germplasms was organized in co-ordination with KVK, Car Nicobar at Car Nicobar from 12 to 14 August 2018 under Schedule Tribe Component of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair. A total of 110 Nicobari farmers including 60 tribal farm women from Mus, Chukchucha and Kinyuka villages participated in this programme. Shri. Samual James, IInd Captain, Mus village and Shri. Peterson Job, 1st Captain, Chukchucha village was the chief guests of the programme.  Dr.A.Kundu was nodal officer of the STC programme and Dr.T.Sujatha the programme co-ordinator. During 3 days programme, various scientific rural poultry farming practices were demonstrated to improve the production of desi birds through audio visual aids. During the programmes, tonics and mineral mixture for better growth and health were distributed. The 2nd  headman of Mus village expressed ‘’ I am glad to attend the awareness programme conducted by the CIARI; in my knowledge it is a vital role of the institute to make the farmer aware about the programme and educate the people; the farmer has also seen the visual and feel happy’’. Further, the 1st  headman of Chukchucha village told that the farmer of the village were very happy on the conduct of the programme.
