IPA Natnl. Prez meets DHS

The national president of Indian Pharmacist Association (IPA), Mr Abhay Kumar along with the Organising Secretary of IPA, A & N Islands branch met the Director of Health Services, Dr. AK Burman recently. Mr Kumar raised a number of issues pertaining to the welfare of Pharmacists during the meeting and handed over a letter containing several issues including immediate filling up of all posts of Pharmacist under Director of Health Services by recruiting from the local candidates of these islands. As many as 31posts are vacant as of now & no recruitment for the Pharmacist have been done since 2010, filling up of the posts of Chief Pharmacist on promotion from the departmental candidates, filling & expansion of Drugs control department, re-evaluation of the posting of Pharmacist depending on load of OPD patients and creation of new post of Pharmacist, as no new post of Pharmacist was created since 2001,even though many new place of posting were created and many institutions were upgraded. “Considering the heavy burden on serving Pharmacists, filling up the vacancies will ease out the hardships of working Pharmacist and enable them perform their duties with more efficiency and dedication,” said Mr Kumar. The Director of Health Services is stated to have assured to take appropriate steps to filling up of the vacant posts of Pharmacist after amendment of recruitment rules.
