Isles team bags medals at World Kudo C’ship

The Kudo Martial Arts Association of these islands participated the 2nd World Cup Tournament at Mumbai Andheri Sports Complex recently in which 600 participants from 23 countries participated. For the first time in the history of these islands, Kudo Martial Arts Association of A&N Islands Team headed by Mr Anand Amrit Raj qualified for the World Tournament for various categories.
All the five participants from Kudo Martial Arts Association of A&N Islands namely Master Udit Kumar Das of Kamaraj English Medium School won Gold Medal under 14 yrs 50kgs boys, Miss Priti Biswas of Govt. Middle School, Mangultan under 13yrs girls 40kg won Gold medal, Miss. Bithika Das of VKZPV, Port Mount won Silver medal under 11 yrs 50kgs, Miss. Jagriti Bhonik of Kamraj English Medium School of under 10yrs won Silver medal and Miss. Neha Halder of Govt. MS, Mangultan won Bronze medal under 12yrs of 40 Kgs.
The Chief Secretary, Mr Anindo Majumder, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Mr Udit Prakash Rai congratulated all the winners and participants and appreciated efforts of Mr. Anand Amrit Raj for the development of the students in sports of Martial Arts and made the Islanders proud. Members of the Island Development Organization, Mr BK Chauhan, General Secretary, IDO A&N Islands, Mr. Selvam, Joint Secretary, IDO A&N Islands, Mr. S. Xavier, District President, IDO SA, Mr. Harminder Singh, District Secretary, IDO SA Ms. Deepa, Organizing Secretary and Mr. Arockia Raj, District General Secretary also congratulated the winners and participants. They also appreciated the role Mr.  Anand Amrit Raj played in making these youngsters at par with other participants in Martial Arts.
