JNRM prof. delivers spl. talk at Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birthplace

The Head of Bengali Department, JNRM, Dr. Jyotirmoy Roychowdhury delivered a special speech at Churulia,  West Bengal, the  birthplace of rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam during the poet's 119th birth festival on the 28th of this month. To commemorate Smt. Prameela Devi (poet's deceased wife), the day was observed as Prameela Divas. Dr. Roychowdhury highlighted on life and sacrifice of Prameela Devi. Week-long 119th birth festival will be conducted from June 1 for which Dr Roychowdhury has been invited as special guest by Kazi Rezaul Karim, Secretary of the Nazrul Academy and nephew of Kazi Nazrul Islam. Mr. Samsul Huda, renowned singer and Seema Islam, well-known reciter of Bangladesh and Muktadhara, a musical team from Durgapur enthralled the audience by their performance. Mr Rajiv Ghanti conducted the event.
