Kuldeep is ANTCC President once again

Mr. Rahul Gandhiji, President, All India Congress Committee, New Delhi, has conveyed his approval for continuance of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma as President, Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee. To congratulate Mr. Sharma, the young dynamic President, the Andaman Nicobar Congress party organized a grand function on Friday at Gandhi Bhavan. The function  was attended by the office bearers of District Congress Committees, Block Congress Committees, Unit Congress Committees and the frontal organizations of Congress party like Congress Seva Dal,  Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, INTUC and Congress workers  and general public in large numbers. Mr. M. Z. Siddiqui, General Secretary, ANTCC in the welcome address welcomed the decision of  Mr. Rahul Gandhi and  narrated the contributions  made by Mr. Sharma during his past tenure as President, ANTCC and INTUC in addressing and solving the problems of general public and the working class people and expressed confidence that with his vast experience and able leadership he will further strengthen the Congress party in the islands.
Ms. Shanta Singh, Member AICC, Mr. R. V. Reddy, President, DCC South Andaman, Mr. Ranglal Haldar, President, DCC also expressed their gratitude to Mr. Gandhi.  They highlighted the present political scenario in the country and requested the workers to forget all ill feelings and work united to strengthen the Congress party. They also urged the workers to visit people and organize meetings at grass root level to understand their problems so as to take up the issues with higher authorities for redressal. Mr. A. R. Marudhavanan, Chief Convener, DMK Unit, A & N Islands accompanied by Mr. Kannan, Senior DMK party leader also extended their best wishes by presenting bouquet and shawl during the occasion. Mr. R. P. Arumugam, Ex- Pradhan joined Congress during the occasion expressing faith in the local leadership of Mr. Sharma. Mr. Sharma expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Rahul Gandhi bestowing him the responsibility of President, ANTCC on him once again. He has also thanked the leaders and workers of Congress party as well as the general public for expressing faith and belief on him and recommending his name to the high Command for the post once again. He assured that he shall work tirelessly to resolve the genuine demands of the people of A& N Islands. He said although the Congress party is not holding any political office in the islands but the party is deep rooted here requesting the masses to work hard at grass root level to strengthen the party to save the country from the clutches of communal forces and also uphold the principles of democracy. Ms. Ratna Kannan, Vice President, District Congress Committee offered the vote of thanks.
