LG to visit Nancowry group of Islands

The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi will be on a two-day visit to Nancowry group of Islands from March 22 to 23. According to an official communication, the Lt. Governor will reach Chowra Island on March 22. At Chowra, he will be holding meeting with tribal leaders at Community Hall. Thereafter, the Lt. Governor will leave for Teressa Island where he will hold meeting with chairman, Tribal Council Teressa and tribal leaders in the Community Hall at Bengali village. He is also scheduled to inspect the Primary Health Centre at Teressa Island.
He will also visit Kamorta Island on the same day where he will hold a meeting with the officers, chairman, Tribal Council, Nancowry and tribal leaders. The other programmes of the Lt. Governor at Kamorta include visit to permanent shelters at Vikas Nagar and Chota Enaka villages and inspection of CHC, Kamorta.
On March 23, the Lt. Governor will reach Katchal Island, where he is scheduled to visit Kapanga School, Primary Health Centre Katchal and hold meeting with tribal leaders and officers in the Community Hall. On completion of visit, the Lt. Governor will be back to Port Blair in the afternoon of March 23.
