Live telecast of PM’s interaction with farmers at KVK

The live telecast of Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi interacting with farmers of different ATARI Zones was screened at ICAR-KVK, South Andaman, Sippighat on Wednesday. The Prime Minister interacted with the farmers through NIC of different zones and motivated the farmers for doubling their income by 2022 and directed the Government departments and KVKs for brining the change in the farming system through proven technological interventions.
During the live telecast at KVK, the Member of Parliament (Loksabha), Mr Bishnu Pada Ray was the chief guest and Dr. A. Kundu was the guest of honour. After the Live programme of Prime Minister of India, a Farmer’s Interaction session was held by the Member of Parliament in which the farmers put their views on their farm, farming situation, economic condition and the constraints faced by them. The Member of Parliament gave patient hearing of the views and problems of the farmers and farmwomen and assured his full support in solving the matter and taking the issues with concerned authorities.
He highlighted the 4 years achievement of the government and called upon ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair, KVKs and Line departments to work for holistic development of farmers.   Dr. A. Kundu, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair whole heartedly praised the dedication and vision of Member of Parliament for showing his interest in developing the agriculture and allied sectors in these Islands and assured his full support to the farmers for doubling their income by 2022. A total of 82 farmers from different parts of islands attended the function. Dr. Nagesh Ram, Senior Scientist & Head, ICAR-KVK, South Andaman proposed the vote of thanks.
