Local Cineplex owners refuse to share profit details

City still in grip of ‘Bahubali’ fever

Ace Director. SS Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali 2: The Conclusion,’ has created a blaze worldwide, earned more than 1300 crores, shattered almost all records in the movie industry and these islands are not to be left behind. Two Cineplex’s in the city, Anand Paradise and Divyum Talkies, have recorded huge profits since the official release of the movie. Multiple screens, in different languages, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, recorded houseful audience till Thursday. Even refreshment vendors had brisk business often leaving movie-goers dejected for short of items. Cineplex owners here, however, are reluctant to part with information relating to the entertainment business which islanders have been longing for decades.
“As someone who has been watching South Indian movies, SS Rajamouli latest is a perfect answer. From social message to latest Indian software knowledge, Bahubali has been proven worldwide. Dialogues excellent, screenplay beyond comparison, special effects all keep the audience glued to their seats over the entire duration of the cinema. It’s an attempt to understand the larger context in which a Telugu film is being mobilised to showcase the hidden talent among the people,” said some audience speaking to this Correspondent at Anand Paradise.
When contacted, Operations Manager of Diwakar Talkies, informed that Bahubali-2 may have earned around 40-50 lakh in these islands. “Divyam with almost full house shows since launch of the movie has registered around 15 lakh,” he said. The Managing Director of Anand Paradise assured to share details after the movie gets off screen in these islands.
