Acting on the report published in The Echo of India, the Forest Division of Rangat in Middle Andaman has  initiated steps to beautify one of the most sought after eco-tourism sites in the region. As per credible information, the Divisional Forest Officer of Rangat has issued directions to renovate Morrice Dera beach near Nimbutala after negative reports in the print media. Currently, the Forest team in the team in the region is applying fresh coats of paint on the eco-friendly structures and other basic amenities developed at the beach after which the Department of Environment and Forest has plans to install CCTVs and deploy watch and ward staff as part of its efforts to increase tourist footfalls in the Middle Andaman region.
The Echo of India, in its edition on March 22 this year, reported plunder of Solar Lights from Morrice Dera beach and other tourist sites in the region. The Department of Environment and Forest has impeccably developed Amkunj beach, Morrice Dera, Dhanni Nallah in Middle Andaman to promote tourism in the North and Middle Andaman region. However, Solar Lights installations at various tourist locations including Morice Dera were plundered by miscreants causing big losses to the government treasury.
