In maiden visit, LG appreciates first responders of natural disasters

In a big boost for the first responders of natural disasters, the Lt. Governor of these islands, Admiral (retd) DK Joshi made a surprise visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Police Fire Services Headquarters on Sunday. At around 6.30 am, the Lt. Governor, in his maiden visit to a government department, accompanied with just one staff of the Raj Niwas Secretariat, inspected the overall preparedness of the fire fighting force, as per information.
Sources said that the Lt. Governor inspected the working condition of fire tenders and other equipment available at the station. He reportedly also sought for a live demo of hosepipes installed in the fire tenders besides other equipment.
Interacting with the fire fighting team present on duty, the Lt. Governor appreciated the force, motivated them, besides taking stock of their concerns. The visit of the Lt. Governor has stimulated hopes among the workforce of the A & N Police Fire Services, who have been long striving for some of their legitimate rights.
